just imagine trying to make music but with no skill so just making stupid beatbox skits that sound bad on recording

literally can anyone recommend anything related to starting a musical journey (too vague i basically want to make music)

just the other day i made a 4 minute remix to glocke blocke by @llaappssee but it sounded cringe so i didn't upload it, if you really want to hear cringe message me and i'll send it to you, i don't feel comfortable uploading it unless there's enough people wanting it, i'd say about 5 for how small i am

If you want to make music look stuff up for DAWs. Depending on if you have a computer you can use DAWs to arrange music. I use Fl studio for my stuff but you do have to purchase it. I have heard LMMS is pretty good and that one is free, I haven’t tried it my self tho. I would start with that and then look into tutorials for making a certain type of genre.

thanks, i'll try to give it a go

I have fun doing bad beatboxes too. :P

Can be fun to layer beatbox + real drums.

Depending on how you want to make music you can go an electric/analogue buying up synths/effects pedals/loopers and such or combo that with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).

I've always used FL studio. I've tried others but always go back, I just like it's workflow. Most DAW's you can do trial runs to see how they work out.

FL Studio, I find has the best consumer practices for your money. I think FL trials allows you to work on projects and save the project file, but not export the project into .wav/.mp3/etc.

I'd shoot for the second tier, the producer edition. (It's on sale right now too! 50 bucks off)

You can upgrade your editions in the future if you get more serious and want all the bells and whistles (or just pick and choose stuff from higher editions -- I think it might even give a discount for future edition upgrades when you pick stuff from higher tiers).

It's also free upgrades for life when new versions of FL come out.

If you're looking to do more live performing... Ableton may be the better route. I'm not too well versed in all the DAW's out there. Not matter what you choose they're all powerful and have their pros/cons. Most third party plugins/vst's/effects work with all the big DAW's.

When I started I knew nothing aside from being an avid music listener. The important thing is starting and having the passion to not quit! Just keep making stuff and you'll get better and constantly learn. Experiment with stuff and go to town. If it's shit, don't sweat. I was shit for a long time, haha. Important thing is having fun making stuff. I didn't really think much about styles or genres when I first started...I just put sounds together and hoped they'd work out, hah. You'll eventually find your workflow and slowly begin to develop a style when you find the effects/sounds/styles you like. There are endless tutorials out there if you get stuck.

think you sumarised all the help id ever need, right now im using something called lmms, its free and aparently good so unless is that bad ill stick with that, ALSO I JUST ANNOUNCED MUSIC 2 DAYS AGO!!!!!!!!!!! its not gonna be done, yet

@BiometryGD I think I messed around with that a few years ago when I was show my bro how to doink around with music software. He had it on his PC.
